One of the most important letters and texts that a student of grammar and Arabic begins with, its author based it on three principles: the factor, the established, and the work (the parsing).

It is distinguished by this wonderful division from the curriculum followed by the students of the “Alfiya Ibn Malik” school and its explanations.

This enriches the thought in understanding the origins of grammatical issues, and invoking the syntactic meaning, especially for non-speakers of the language of Dhad who took this text very carefully.

This nice text had a great popularity among non-Arabs, for what it contained – despite the kindness of its volume – of the origins of Arabic grammar, in a style that paved the way, and illustrative examples that are close to understanding, easy to comprehend.

As for its author, the scholar Abd al-Qaher al-Jurjani.. he is too clear to refer to, and too superior to be translated, and his contemporary Imam, the historian al-Bakhrazi suffices you: He is unique in his abundant knowledge, rather he is the individual knowledge of the famous imams.

Today, the language of al-Dhad is in constant abandonment, which its parents and relatives have been doing, as it is in constant emaciation, and a fight with the vernacular and its advocates is almost unrelenting.

And had it not been for the reprinting of those beloved books on the study of Arabic, and consideration of them for clarification and explication, with the helpless determination of the campaigners and students of knowledge… we would have lost the most important element in shaping our Quranic identity.

And work is diligent, by God’s permission, in completing the scholars of these books, and producing them for their students with care that removes boredom when reading it, and expels boredom from the chests when memorizing and studying it, and sends the enthusiasm to read and read it, after it was absent for a long time from the world of publications.

And in support of Dar Al-Minhaj in consolidating the foundations of this grammar school, and as a contribution from it in diversifying ways of education.. it is pleased to publish this nice text of the scholar Imam Al-Jurjani, may God Almighty have mercy on him; I hope that it will be useful to the students, and that it will open the door.
